Athletes can find friendly competition year-round with the wide array of ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ intramural sports and sport clubs. Join a casual game as part of an intramural team or represent the Vandals in regional competitions as a sports club member, there’s room for everyone to play.

U of I’s Athletic Department sponsors 16 NCAA Division I sports teams in football, volleyball, basketball, track and field and more.

The U of I Swim Center offers lap swimming, aquatic fitness classes and swim lessons in a welcoming environment.
The Climbing Center offers 6,000 sq. ft. of climbing, including a 55-ft pillar and bouldering cave.
The Norm and Becky Iverson Speed and Strength Center is designed for NCAA student-athlete training and rehabilitation.
Get active outdoors with U of I’s tennis and pickleball courts, sand volleyball pits, soccer field and disc golf course.
The Outdoor Program office, located inside the Student Recreation Center, offers guided adventures year-round to explore Idaho and the Pacific Northwest’s stunning landscapes. It also offers a library of outdoor trip resources and a gear rental center for those planning their own outdoor adventure. You’ll find everything you need for camping, hiking, biking, skiing, snowboarding and more.
U of I’s nationally recognized Vandal Spirit Squad brings game days to life with powerful cheer, stunts, tumbling and dance performances.
The Student Recreation Center hosts U of I’s Fitness Program, where you can participate in fitness classes such as cycling, Pilates, TRX® and yoga. Courses rotate each semester and are ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ on a first-come, first-served basis. If you’re interested in a more personalized approach, you can sign up for personal training sessions with U of I’s staff of professional trainers.
