Check out our ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ transfer resources and FAQs.
How are my transcripts evaluated
Your transcripts will be evaluated course-by-course by a transfer specialist. All undergraduate courses from regionally accredited institutions will be evaluated for transfer credit. Sometimes the transfer specialist will need more information about your courses, such as a syllabus or detailed course description. If additional information is needed, we will contact you via VandalMail.
I transferred courses, but it is showing up as 000, does that mean it didn't transfer?
No, your course has been evaluated and accepted. Courses identified by 000 are considered electives in the subject and did not have a match to a ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ course. You can talk with your advisor to see how these may apply to your degree.
I have an associate's degree, does that change my degree progress?
Yes, if you have earned an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree from a regionally accredited institution, your general education requirements will be satisfied.
I am Idaho Core complete at another school, does that change my degree progress?
Yes, your general education requirements will be satisfied so long as it’s indicated on your official transcript.
I completed the IGETC
Yes, your general education requirements will be satisfied if you complete the IGETC from a California Community College and it is indicated on your official transcript.
I went to a quarter school, why am I only getting partial credit?
Your credits from a quarter school have to be converted to the semester system when they are transferred. A quarter credit is equal to 2/3 (0.667) of a semester credit. See chart below for an example:
Quarter | Semester |
---|---|
1 | 0.667 |
2 | 1.334 |
3 | 2.001 |
4 | 2.668 |
5 | 3.335 |
I attended an international university, what do I need to do to transfer my credits?
÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥â€™s transfer specialist will evaluate and record all international coursework. An evaluation by an independent academic credential evaluation service may be required or requested for some transcripts. International transcripts will be evaluated based on ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥'s definition of credit found in the catalog and current practices. In some instances, credit earned from other institutions may not equate to a credit earned at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥. All transfer credit accepted from an international institution will be recorded using pass/fail grading.
How does my transfer GPA affect my ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ GPA?
Your transfer GPA does not affect your ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ institutional GPA, which is the official GPA used to determine academic standing and graduation eligibility.
How does my transfer GPA affect admission or financial aid?
For admission, you are required to have at least a 2.0 GPA on all college-level courses attempted at your previous institution. If you have more questions, contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office at admissions@uidaho.edu or 208-885-6326.
For financial aid, make sure to start the FAFSA as soon as possible when it opens in October. Your transfer GPA will be considered with your FAFSA for scholarships and additional aid. If you have more questions, contact the Financial Aid Office at finaid@uidaho.edu or 208-885-6312.
