Congratulations on your admission to ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ College of Law, you're on your way to a promising legal career. We’ve provided some information to help guide you through this next stage with Idaho Law.
Important dates for admitted students in 2025
- Admitted student day: Meet other incoming students, tour campus and meet faculty and staff
- Boise: March 21-22, 2025
- Moscow: April 4-5, 2025
- Enrollment deposit deadline:
- April 15, 2025
- New Student Orientation: Take part in this mandatory orientation program and prepare for a strong start. Professional attire is required.

Next steps
Submit your final transcripts
Prior to the start of classes, you'll need to submit a final, official, degree-conferring transcript from your undergraduate institution. It is best practice to ask the institution to confirm that the transcript requested will indicate the degree awarded.
Send your final, official, degree-conferring transcript to the (LSAC). You must ensure the transcript you submit indicates an awarded degree. You will not be able to register until your transcript has been received.

Register for classes
Registration opens in early July. You will only be able to register if you have been notified that your official law school files are complete. If you have not received this notification, a hold will be placed on your admissions account. Contact the Admissions office at 208-885-2300 to learn how to ensure your files are complete.
Activate your university email right away
Make sure to activate your ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ email address as soon as possible. This will be your primary email used for all university communication—including from the College of Law. Read the to get started.

MyUI is your go-to hub for managing your student information. From viewing your class schedule and updating your address to setting up direct deposit for financial aid, it’s all here.

This packet will include important informational documents that will prepare you for your transition to ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ College of Law. Some documents in the packet will require quick action on your part and will need to be reviewed before New Student Orientation.

When do classes start?
New Student Orientation begins Aug. 18, 2025, and is required for all incoming students. Law classes begin the week of August 25. We suggest settling into your housing arrangements by early August to ensure a smooth start.
Can I defer my admission?
Yes, if you're considering deferring, email a formal written request with your reasoning to lawadmit@uidaho.edu. Each request is reviewed individually by our admissions committee. If your deferral is approved, a written confirmation will be sent with a contract offer that details the terms. Seat deferrals are limited to one year, and a new application is needed by January 15 the following year to confirm your seat.
