Disability permits
÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ is committed to providing accessible parking and transportation options for students, employees and visitors with disabilities. Whether you need an annual disability permit, a temporary permit or short-term access, there are options to help you navigate campus with ease.
Disability parking permits
Both a U of I disability permit (annual or temporary) and a valid state-issued disability placard or license plate are required to park in ADA-marked spaces, except after 5 p.m. on weekdays, weekends, academic breaks and university holidays. During these times, only a valid state-issued disability placard or license plate is required.
Disability permits are also required in when permits are enforced. However, in and timed spaces, only a state-issued disability placard or plate is necessary, with no time restrictions.
Before attempting to purchase an annual Disability permit online, please email a photo or scanned image of the photo ID and state disability permit/plate registration to parking@uidaho.edu. A U of I annual Disability permit can then be purchased by visiting . If the state-issued disability permit is non-expiring, there will be no need to annually update state information after the initial submission. Otherwise, a new state disability placard/plate registration will need to be submitted when the original expires.

Annual disability permits
Annual disability permits are ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ for students, employees and frequent visitors with a valid state-issued disability placard or license plate. These permits allow parking in ADA-marked spaces, permit spaces in any color-coded lot, metered spaces, posted time spaces and valid walkway spaces.

Temporary disability permits
Available for purchase by university faculty, staff, students or visitors who provide photo identification and current registration for a and submit a . The U of I Temporary Disability permit’s expiration date will be set to match that of the temporary state-issued placard.

- $1 per day for others (not exceeding the cost of an annual permit)

Available for purchase by university faculty, staff, students or visitors who provide photo identification and current registration for a state-issued Disability permit and submit a U of I Temporary Disability permit application. The U of I Temporary Disability permit’s expiration date will be set to match that of the temporary state-issued placard. Temporary disability permits are free to holders of an annual parking permit and $1 per day for all others, not to exceed the cost of an annual disability permit.

Short-term access permits
For individuals with short-term mobility needs who do not have a formal Disability placard/plate, a short-term access permit provides temporary access to campus parking.
- Valid for three days in permit spaces, metered spaces, timed spaces and walkway spaces; extension ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ at the discretion of PTS
- Not valid in ADA-marked spaces
- Limited to one permit per person per year
- Free for annual permit holders; $3 for others
