About ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ Foundation
Established in 1970, the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ Foundation secures private financial support to advance the university’s mission and manages assets for its benefit. Governed by a board of directors with up to 25 volunteer voting members, the UI Foundation receives gifts in various forms, including cash, securities, real estate and planned giving options like bequests and charitable trusts. Each year, numerous endowments are funded, with most held in the Consolidated Investment Trust (CIT), the UI Foundation’s pooled endowment fund. While the principal remains intact, investment earnings support scholarships, faculty development, research and other donor-designated programs. As Idaho’s largest public charitable foundation, the UI Foundation plays a vital role in expanding opportunities for students, faculty and research.
